I read and give my insight to you. There really is nothing special to my way. I just like to read and help nurture whatever ideas you are trying to grow.
I usually use a template to move through the major facets of a piece, either prose or poetry. While reviewing, I note places that seem to stumble or that would benefit from technical attention as well as commenting on the over all flow and emotion of a piece.
Hi! I'll be happy to tell you what I like about your item's content and what emotion it evokes in me. If I see an area or two that need attention by way of improvement, I'll make suggestions for you. I will try to word my reviews in such a way that might garner you more views for the item when seen on the public reviewing page and here, in my reviewing forum. I will always do my best to carry on the Simply Positive motto.
I like to always pick out the positive points in a piece, even if overall I am not enamoured by it. I tend to point out grammatical and spelling errors. I will be honest, but not unkind
When providing reviews, I tend to maintain a positive outlook. While some things may not work in a story or other writing sample, I feel it is important to identify what works well and how parts done poorly can be reworked into something better.
I definitely understand miss spellings, so I'll focus more on the story than the errors. For me the story needs to have nice structure, believable characters, and a great idea!
Conversational - I don't have a formal template. Comment to my perception of the work, both substance and technique; highlights & misses. My reviews are public by default, but I will gladly make private upon request.
I balance my reviews by commenting on what worked and what might be improved. I try to remain objective and tailor suggestions to what's on the page rather how I would write something. Above all, I'm honest. If you're looking for quick praise or an easy five-star rating, I'm not the right reviewer for you. I'm a tough critic, and I will tell you what I really think (as nicely as possible, of course).
In a single word, thorough. I will turn your piece upside down, shake the change out of its pockets and look at even the most minute details. I can be technical but will do so when emphasizing a larger point about the piece as a whole.
I try my best to read everything on Writing.com with great care. My reviews always include a first impression, my feelings about theme and structure and where appropriate, some thoughts about possible revisions.
I focus mainly on stylistic aspects of your work and favour writing inline critiques so as to make sure that you know exactly what I am referring to. I believe in constructive criticism. However, I am honest and, though I will do my best to convey my points in the most tactful way possible, I will not give a good rating to a work that does not deserve it. I do my best to adapt to your needs and specifications, and like to post any useful links I think would help you in writing your story. I also love to follow-upsvia PM's, so if you have any questions (or if you want to defend something I criticized, it happens), I will be glad to answer, clarify, or just start a discussion with you via email. **NOTE: I'm a perfectionist, and the price reflects the time it takes to make a thorough and helpful review. It also allows me not to have too many requests at the same time. Reviewing will also be slow until May.**
I tend to focus on the purpose and the impact of a piece . I`ll comment on anything that catches my eye . If the review I give is unsatisfactory please email me and I`ll refund your gift points and review the item again for free . I will read anything if it is interesting . My reviews vary in length but the majority are a bit long .
I like to give a fair honest review on anything. I believe in giving every review a custom review and not a cookie cutter. I will point out all the mistakes as well as offer or show help to fix it.
I will give you an honest review, straight forward. I believe that we improve when we know what and when to better something or ourselves. I am also learning but through this interaction of giving and taking we will both become knowledgeable. I try and always look at a piece from an artistic point of view and then from a grammatical point of view.
I usually love reviewing. I will try to be honest about any plothole or the language issues I find.
I tend to focus on the technical aspects of a piece of writing, looking at the language, flow, style and punctuation. I tend not to spend too much time on complimenting what works well.
Disclaimer: I am not good at remembering to do requested reviews. Often I have busy things going on with work and my own novels, so sorry if I decline or don't remember to do a review in the short time given. Just a warning. When I review: Long. Depending on the type of story and reason for review I tend to get anywhere from 4,000 characters to on the rare occasion over 10,000. I will make overall comments, technical points and even offer sources when necessary but a lot is dependent on what I'm reviewing. I can even do a full edit but that's take a lot of niceness and time.
